The Chinese tech giant was expected to launch a range of smartphones under the Mate series by mid-October. To be precise, Huawei will be launching a total of four smartphones and the one that leaked today is the Huawei Mate 10 Pro. The press render of the phone has been provided by none other than Evan Blass.
Blass also provided some important details of the phone in his blog on VentureBeat. According to the report, the phone will sport a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2880. The resolution and the press image both suggest an 18:9 display that has super thin bezels on the top and bottom.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro Camera
The camera is another aspect of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro that would attract eyeballs. Becoming a norm now, the dual-camera setup can also be seen on this phone. The two sensors come with a resolution of 12MP and 20MP and have been developed in partnership with Leica. With that, the cameras are optically stabilized and have an aperture of f/1.6, similar to LG V30.
The phone packs a battery of 4000mAh despite its thickness of 7.5mm. It will almost certainly be powered by the Kirin 970 processor that was announced recently. The RAM of the phone would be 6GB and the internal storage would either be 64GB or 128GB. Android 8.0 Oreo will run on the device out of the box.
Huawei released a promo video a couple of days back that gave a subtle look at the phone. The camera placements on the front and back seem similar to that of the image leaked by Evan Blass. The company has also teased AI as a strong aspect of the phone. Both the teaser video and the tweet speak about the power of AI in unison.
There is a launch event scheduled for October 16 where we’d see Huawei officially announce the Mate 10 series. The leaked image gives quite a detailed look at the phone just a couple of weeks before its launch
